ORDER FIREWOOD
Hardwood firewood paper birch

Hardwood

Any firewood that comes from deciduous trees (trees that lose their leaves in the fall and winter) are hardwoods.

BEST USED FOR:
  • Primary heating of a home or business
  • A longer-lasting burn
  • Great for resort fireplaces
COMMON LOCAL SPECIES OF HARDWOOD:
  • Ash, aspen, paper birch, red maple, red oak, sugar maple, tamarack

Softwood firewood spruce and red pine

Softwood

Any firewood that comes from coniferous or evergreen trees (trees that keep their needles through winter) are softwoods.

BEST USED FOR:
  • Recreational (i.e. campfires)
  • A faster, shorter burn
  • Kindling (it is easier to ignite than hardwoods)
COMMON LOCAL SPECIES OF SOFTWOOD:
  • Balsam fir, black spruce, red pine, white pine, white spruce

Bundles

  • Bundles are currently tamarack and available for purchase at either Whole Foods Co-op locations.  Other species may be available for order.
  • Please call 218-464-9663 or email wade@duluthfirewoodinc.com for wholesale bundle inquiries.
  • Bundles also available for delivery to your home or business for cooking or the occasional fire indoors or outdoors.
